I have always loved the colors of the sea: the intense cobalt blue that turns to turquoise and finally to delicate aquamarine colors. But it can also take intense green and gray hues in the cold and stormy seasons.
David James (1853 – 1904) for me was a discovery, his paintings are breathtaking.
He was a prolific British marine painter. Little is known about the artist’s life.
He was very good at painting waves, that he painted from the shore.
His favourite locations, portrayed in his works, were Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
This art copy is hand painted with oil colors of finest quality on cotton canvas.
